🛒 Ingredients
For the salmon & shrimp
2 salmon fillets (5–6 oz / 150–170 g each)
10–12 large shrimp, peeled & deveined
1 tbsp olive oil
1 tbsp butter
1 tsp paprika
½ tsp garlic powder
½ tsp onion powder
Salt & black pepper, to taste
For the peppers & creamy sauce
1 red bell pepper, sliced
1 green bell pepper, sliced
2 cloves garlic, minced
½ cup chicken or seafood broth
½ cup heavy cream
1 tsp Dijon mustard (optional but delicious)
½ tsp dried herbs (Italian seasoning or thyme)
Red pepper flakes (optional)
For the creamy mashed potatoes
500 g (about 1 lb) potatoes, peeled & cubed
2 tbsp butter
¼–⅓ cup warm milk or cream
Salt & black pepper, to taste
👩🍳 Instructions
1️⃣ Make the mashed potatoes
Boil potatoes in salted water until fork-tender (15–18 minutes).
Drain and mash with butter and warm milk.
Season with salt & pepper, cover, and keep warm.
2️⃣ Season the seafood
Pat salmon and shrimp dry.
Season both with paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt & pepper.
3️⃣ Cook salmon & shrimp
Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
Sear salmon skin-side down for 4–5 minutes per side until golden.
Remove salmon and set aside.
Add shrimp to the same skillet and cook 1–2 minutes per side until pink.
Remove shrimp and set aside with salmon.
4️⃣ Make peppers & sauce
In the same skillet, add bell peppers and sauté 3–4 minutes until soft.
Add garlic and cook 30 seconds.
Pour in broth, scraping up the flavorful bits.
Stir in cream, Dijon, herbs, and chili flakes.
Simmer 3–5 minutes until slightly thickened.
5️⃣ Bring it all together
Return salmon and shrimp to the skillet.
Spoon sauce over the seafood and simmer gently for 2 minutes.
🍽️ Serve
Serve the salmon & shrimp over a bed of creamy mashed potatoes, topped with peppers and plenty of sauce.
💡 Tips & Variations
Add spinach or mushrooms to the sauce for extra veggies
Swap cream for half-and-half for a lighter version
