Blackened Steak & Shrimp with Cajun Cream Sauce

 

🛒 Ingredients

For the Blackened Steak:

2 ribeye or sirloin steaks

1 tbsp olive oil

1 tsp smoked paprika

1 tsp garlic powder

1 tsp onion powder

½ tsp cayenne pepper (adjust to taste)

1 tsp dried thyme

1 tsp dried oregano

½ tsp black pepper

½ tsp salt

For the Blackened Shrimp:

½ lb large shrimp, peeled & deveined

1 tbsp olive oil or melted butter

½ tsp smoked paprika

½ tsp garlic powder

¼ tsp cayenne

½ tsp black pepper

Pinch of salt

For the Cajun Cream Sauce:

2 tbsp butter

3 cloves garlic, minced

1 cup heavy cream

½ cup chicken broth

½ tsp Cajun seasoning

½ tsp smoked paprika

¼ tsp cayenne (optional)

½ cup grated Parmesan cheese

Salt & black pepper, to taste

1 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

🔥 Instructions

1️⃣ Season the Steak

Mix all steak spices. Rub steaks with olive oil and coat generously with seasoning. Let sit 10–15 minutes.

2️⃣ Blacken the Steak

Heat a cast-iron skillet over high heat until very hot.

Add steaks and sear 3–4 minutes per side for medium-rare or to your liking.

Remove and rest under foil.

3️⃣ Blacken the Shrimp

Toss shrimp with oil and seasoning.

In the same skillet, cook shrimp 1–2 minutes per side until pink. Remove and set aside.

4️⃣ Make the Cajun Cream Sauce

Lower heat to medium. Add butter and garlic; sauté 30 seconds.

Stir in cream, broth, Cajun seasoning, paprika, and cayenne.

Simmer 3–4 minutes until slightly thick.

Whisk in Parmesan until smooth. Season to taste.

5️⃣ Serve

Slice steak, place on plate, top with shrimp, and drizzle generously with Cajun cream sauce.

Garnish with parsley.
