Old Time Oven Peach Cobbler

 

Ingredients

4 cups peeled & sliced fresh peaches (or canned, well-drained)

1 cup granulated sugar, divided

½ tsp ground cinnamon

1 tsp lemon juice

1 cup all-purpose flour

1 tsp baking powder

¼ tsp salt

½ cup unsalted butter, melted

½ cup milk

1 tsp vanilla extract

👩‍🍳 Instructions

Preheat oven to 350°F (180°C). Grease an 8×8-inch or similar baking dish.

Prepare peaches

In a bowl, mix:

Peaches

½ cup sugar

Cinnamon

Lemon juice

Toss well and set aside for 10 minutes to release juices.

Make the batter

In another bowl whisk together:

Flour

Baking powder

Salt

Remaining ½ cup sugar

Add:

Melted butter

Milk

Vanilla

Stir until smooth.

Assemble

Pour batter into prepared baking dish.

Spoon peaches evenly over batter — do not stir.

Bake

Bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes until golden brown and bubbly.

Cool & serve Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving.
